Who doesn't love pizza?!

Who doesn’t love pizza?!

These are super easy and versatile. More of an appetizer, but I made them for a really easy dinner while I was 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Turns out, I was in labor!

I also made Contraction Cookies while in labor.  Maybe I was afraid it would take 15+ hours as it did with #1.  That’s a lotta work and a long time to go without eating!  Little did I know, I’d have #2 less than 3 hours after arriving at the hospital!

This is one of those recipes where your kid cook can pretty much do it all.

Mine even took this picture. Not too shabby!

Oh, and remember that leftover sauce packet from BBQ Chicken Pizzas?  It is PERFECT for dipping these!

Roll Up Ingredients:

  • Store-bought refrigerator crescent rolls
  • 1 c shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional add ins: pizza toppings of choice
    • pepperoni
    • black olives
    • banana peppers
    • etc

Topping:

  • 1 T butter, melted
  • ¼ t Italian seasoning

Serving:

  • Sauce for dipping
  1. Preheat oven according to crescent roll directions.
  2. Roll out dough and place cheese and toppings on the wide end.
  3. Roll them up.
  4. Brush with topping.
  5. Bake according to crescent roll directions.
  6. Serve with sauce.

Ideas to get your kid cook involved:

  • Have him place the cheese and add-ins on the wide end of the dough.
  • Let him try rolling them up. Help if needed.
  • Let him brush on the topping.
  • Ask him what other ingredients he thinks would make good roll ups.  My kid cook came up with such a great combo, I decided to buy more crescent rolls and try them again.  The recipe for Sweet Ozzy’s Sweet Roll Ups coming soon!
